Sludge Removal covers sludge removal, dewatering and disposal from tanks, sumps, lagoons, interceptors and treatment systems, as well as desludging, interceptor emptying and vacuum tanker work. Projects range from planned maintenance to one-off jobs.

Reading the settled layer
In a lagoon or settlement tank, the depth and consistency of the settled layer can tell you more than the visible water level. Process sludge is different again: information about the chemicals and materials used on site helps a supplier assess sampling and treatment requirements. The contents, the access and the destination for the material all shape the job.
Our sludge removal services page goes through the work itself. The sludge EWC code checker offers general guidance and questions to discuss with a supplier. Its results do not replace a site assessment or establish a definitive waste classification.
Where sludge builds up
Sludge can build up in food and drink processing plants, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, water and wastewater treatment works, agricultural sites and other managed facilities. A treatment works, a factory sump and a food processing plant can hold very different materials and present different access conditions. Those differences matter when assessing the work, whether at a single site or across several locations. Sludge Removal works with customers nationwide.
